Would you like work for a long standing, well established and growing IT and cyber security company based in Exeter that provides technology services and support to businesses and individuals across Devon and beyond?
The role:
We are looking to recruit a new technician to join the Think IT team in our Exeter office. This full time role is predominantly office based and is focussed on the response to and resolution of client IT issues; configuration and deployment of new IT solutions to clients; and working with clients and the team to develop the services that best meet clients’ needs, now and in the future.
The IT Technician is responsible for working with the wider team to resolve support requests with hardware, software, and network systems, as well as to meet customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to become a key part of a small business where we pride ourselves on providing a quality and customer-focused service: we strive to deliver cost-effective, reliable and secure services that help clients get the best from technology.
Your day to day responsibilities will include:
1/ Responding to, analysing and diagnosing, and resolving client IT issues, including:
a/ Responding to, progressing and resolving issues via phone, email, helpdesk etc;
b/ Ensuring all issues are responded to and/or resolved within SLA parameters; and
c/ Maintaining accuracy of helpdesk tickets at all times.
2/ Acquiring, setting up and installing hardware, software and network products and services where required, either remotely or on-site.
3/ Providing expert and accurate IT advice to clients where required.
4/ Ensuring a high standard of customer care at all times, including:
a/ Communicating clearly with clients and users, adapting communication (in particular, technical details) as required;
b/ Keeping clients and users informed of progress with IT issues, equipment or software supply, projects and other works;
c/ Managing client expectations correctly; and
d/ Working with the rest of the team to identify any repeat issues or predictable problems and putting in place pro-active mechanisms to reduce impact on clients and users.
5/ Assisting with supporting internal systems and services (including website and communications).
The Person:
We’re equally interested in hearing from those with IT experience as well as those with good customer services skills and a passion for and interest in tech, but without the experience. We provide training, so someone that can care about our clients, but needs a bit of support to learn the detail, could be as effective and successful as someone that’s from an IT background.
Good communication skills are important, and ideally we are looking for someone with GCSE (Grade C or above) Maths, English and Science (or equivalent).
A methodical, logical and organised problem-solving approach is essential as is the ability to work effectively with minimal direction (after the initial training period) and to deal competently and confidently with IT issues as they arise.
You will ideally have the ability to drive and be in possession of a valid driving licence. The ability and willingness to travel to undertake on-site support activities (generally within East Devon) is essential. You will also be willing to learn and develop knowledge and skills.
